WSR are recruiting for a SMED Night Operative for our reputable client based in Daventry.

Job Title: SMED Operative (Single-Minute Exchange of Die)
Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Shift: Nights
Salary: Circa £30k

 

SMED Night Operative Role Overview

We’re looking for a SMED Operative to carry out quick and efficient machine changeovers on our production line. You’ll be key to ensuring smooth operations, meeting production targets, and supporting ongoing improvements across the site.

 

SMED Night Operative Responsibilities:

  • Complete machine changeovers to SMED standards
  • Work safely and support health, safety, and environmental goals
  • Use production systems for accurate data entry
  • Support lean initiatives to reduce setup and changeover times
  • Help deliver the production plan on time and to a high standard


SMED Night Operative Skills Experience and Attributes:

  • Experience in manufacturing or print environments
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with a safety-first approach
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Desirable: High-speed printing experience, knowledge of Radius, or exposure to rapid changeover production.
