A leading manufacturing business is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to work within a fast-paced production environment, helping to maintain and improve a wide range of manufacturing equipment while supporting operational performance and reliability.
The successful candidate will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving equipment efficiency and ensuring production machinery operates safely and effectively.
Electrical Maintenance Engineer Role Overview:
Reporting into the Engineering team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of manufacturing equipment across the facility.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities across production equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability and performance.
- Troubleshooting control systems and electrical equipment.
- Conducting routine inspections to identify potential issues before they impact production.
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure equipment availability.
- Maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards throughout the site.
- Supporting reactive maintenance activities as required.
Electrical Maintenance Engineer Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Apprentice trained with recognised electrical qualifications.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, industrial or production environment is desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Experience working with:
- AC/DC drives
- Three-phase motors
- Electrical hoists
- PLC systems
- Inverters
- Relays and control circuits
- Sensors and speed control systems
- Understanding of industrial safety systems and electrical control equipment.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be advantageous.
- Mechanical fault-finding knowledge, including gearboxes, pumps and associated equipment, would be beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
