WSR is recruiting for a Part Time Business Development Manager for our reputable client in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.

 

Business Development Manager (Part-Time)

Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire (National travel required)
Salary: £50,000 pro rata + 10% commission on business won
Hours: 3 days per week (flexible)

 

Help Shape the Growth of a Thriving Construction Business

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to play a key role in driving business growth across the construction, refurbishment and fit-out sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, opening doors and identifying new opportunities. Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll help grow an established presence across specialist markets including education, care, commercial refurbishment and retail fit-out.

Business Development Manager Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering a business development strategy to support continued growth.
  • Identifying and securing new opportunities across:
    • Education
    • Commercial refurbishment and fit-out
    • Retail conversion and fit-out projects
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders, architects, surveyors, project managers and consultants.
  • Researching upcoming projects and identifying potential opportunities.
  • Monitoring tender portals and framework agreements.
  • Attending networking events, exhibitions and client meetings.
  • Supporting bid submissions with capability statements, presentations and other sales material.
  • Working closely with estimating and operational teams to ensure a seamless handover from enquiry through to project delivery.
  • Managing and maintaining an accurate CRM system and sales pipeline.
  • Producing regular reports on pipeline activity, opportunities and forecasts.
  • Acting as a professional ambassador for the business and building long-term client relationships.

Business Development Manager Skills, Experience and Attributes:

Essential:

  • Proven business development or sales experience within construction, refurbishment, property or a closely related industry.
  • A successful track record of generating leads and converting opportunities into projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Confident communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and proactively.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Professional, approachable and credible.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Results-focused and commercially driven.
  • A confident negotiator who enjoys building lasting relationships.
  • Positive, adaptable and collaborative.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working with education, healthcare, care providers or local authorities.
  • Knowledge of construction frameworks and tender portals.
  • An understanding of construction project delivery.

 

Business Development Manager Benefits:

  • £50,000 pro rata salary
  • Uncapped commission at 10% of all new business secured.
